Pet Cave — How to Use

Before you start: The Pet Cave is fully enclosed with a single circular entrance. It suits pets who already seek covered spaces (under beds, behind sofas, inside boxes). If your pet avoids tight or covered spaces, the Indoor Pet House (open front) is a better fit.
Days 1–3

Placement

Place the Pet Cave on the floor, a shelf, or beside furniture at a height your pet can comfortably reach. Drop a familiar blanket inside through the entrance. Leave a treat trail leading to the opening. Do not push your pet toward it.

Goal: Your pet has sniffed the entrance and investigated.
Days 3–7

Investigation

Place treats just inside the entrance. Cats will often investigate within hours. Dogs comfortable with enclosed spaces will follow. The curved interior supports full-curl resting; once they try it, the shape does the work.

Goal: Your pet enters and spends time inside.
Days 7–14

Claimed

Once your pet starts sleeping inside, they have claimed it. Most cats do this within the first week. Small dogs who like enclosed spaces take 1–2 weeks. The single entrance means they control who enters; this is the appeal.

Goal: The Pet Cave becomes a regular rest spot.
Placement tips
  • Floors, shelves, or beside furniture — all work
  • Keep away from direct sunlight for a comfortable interior temperature
  • Keep away from AC vents (avoid direct cold air on a sleeping pet)
  • Keep placement consistent once your pet has claimed it
Wipe interior and exterior with a dry microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a lightly damp cloth. Air-dry fully before your pet re-enters. Remove and wash bedding inside regularly.
